How to compress an image

During the process of saving an image as a new JPEG the following box will appear. The level of compression selected will affect the file size and quality of the image.

The level you choose will depend on what is more important for your task : file size or image quality .

Level 8 is a good compromise. It keeps the image quality fairly high while significantly reducing the file size.
